Following its latest accreditation inspection, Weedon Corrugated Products of Audenshaw, Manchester, one of the country’s leading independent manufacturers of corrugated packaging, has passed its BRC (British Retail Consortium) audit for quality and food safety at level ‘AA’.
The BRC operates a programme of internationally recognised hygiene standards for the packaging used for food and drink. Accreditation at level ‘AA’ guarantees that Weedon Corrugated Products’ manufacturing processes will deliver top quality corrugated packaging for the food and drink markets.
Weedon Corrugated Products joins its sister company, Weedon PSC of Hednesford, Staffordshire, on the BRC’s prestigious list of AA accredited companies.
BRC Global Standards is a leading brand and consumer protection organisation, used by over 26,000 certificated suppliers over 130 countries. Its standards guarantee the quality, safety and operations of a business and ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer.
Weedon Corrugated Products Managing Director, John Weedon, commented:
“Within the Weedon Group the provision of top quality service to our customers is one of our highest priorities. BRC provides the industry-wide benchmark for food safety and quality and its standard is fast becoming a minimum requirement for major retailers. Level ‘AA’ is the pinnacle for us to achieve and is testimony to the efficiency of our systems and processes and our attention to detail.”
Weedon Corrugated Products is already accredited to the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standard and by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which guarantees that the company is using timber and forest products produced from well-managed forests.
